How to Achieve Embodied Self-Awareness to THRIVE!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past year working solely with Enneagram Nines (including myself!) it’s that we can’t change until we start paying attention to, not only our thoughts but also our bodies…all the way out to our fingertips and toes.


Our thoughts and tendencies are not only stored in our brains but in our tissues throughout our bodies.


The Enneagram gives us conceptual self-awareness. That's an important part of the picture. But we also need embodied self-awareness.


Here's the difference:


Embodied Self-Awareness


Embodied self-awareness takes us to the present moment in time.


It literally connects us to our aliveness. In other words, the metabolic energy flowing through us. So we not only understand something conceptually but we can feel it.


When your vision is fueled by embodied self-awareness, it keeps you moving toward what you want instead of quitting.


We need both.


When our conceptual self-awareness is informed by embodied self-awareness, we are better able to make decisions and show up in a way that works for ourselves and others. It's amazing what can happen when we connect our minds and our bodies!
